Akuapem Poloo Ghanaian actress jailed for posing naked in front of her son

Ghanaian actress Rosemond Brown, better known as Akuapem Poloo, has been sentenced to jailed for posing naked in front of her son.

She was sentenced to three months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court over the publication of obscene material and domestic violence.

The actress was sentenced for her Instagram post where she went naked while posing with her seven-year-old son in June, last year.

According to Akuapem Poloo at that time, every post she makes on her social media page is to send a message since she is an artiste and they are also expressions of her artistic personality.

Therefore, she said the picture that quickly went viral with her son, was an artistic expression of motherhood and a message to those who do not respect women and their mothers.

She has now been sentenced to 90 days in jail, the actress pleaded for mercy, to no avail.

“Mummy please, Mummy, I beg you, Mummy please,” she reportedly said to the judge.

Akuapem’s lawyer, Mr Andy Vortia, prayed for a more lenient sentence but the court held that a harsh sentence must be passed to serve as a deterrent to others.

The actress was convicted on her own plea, after she had pleaded guilty to three counts of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence namely a conduct that in any way undermined another person’s privacy or integrity, and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracted or was likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.

CBN Governor faults Governor Obaseki’s claim that FG printed N50billion for states to share (Video)

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has urged Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state to stop giving coloration to printing of money.

Emefiele who spoke in Nasarawa State during an inspection tour of the proposed $500m Dangote sugar processing facility, stated that it is the job of the Central Bank of Nigeria to print money.

He added that the concept of printing of money is about lending money. Emefiele said;

“If you understand the concept of printing of money, it is about lending money. That is our job. To print is about lending money.

“So, there is no need of putting all the controversy about printing of money as if we go into the factory, print the naira and start distributing on the streets.

“It is very inappropriate for people to give colouration to printing of money as if it is some foreign words coming from the sky.

“It’s important for me to put it this way that in 2015/16, the kind of situation we found ourselves in, we did provide a budget support facility to all the states of this country.

“That loan is still unpaid up till now. We are going to insist on them paying back the money since they are accusing us of giving them loans.”“If you understand the concept of printing of money, it is about lending money. That is our job. To print is about lending money.
