Transfers: Arsenal agree personal terms with James maddison

Arsenal are yet to win any of their pre season game. They lost their first game by two goals to one and drew the other game. The London-based club are looking to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes and according to Gary Stephenson, they could press ahead with a move for James Maddison.

Arsenal and Maddison have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms and Arsenal are now expected to make a formal offer to Leicester City for the Leicester star. Martin Odegaard spent the second half of last season with Arsenal, but he has decided to go back to Real Madrid.

This triggered Mikel Arteta need to bring a similar player and thus James Maddison links. The England international fits the profile. He can play in the number 10 position and can also play comfortably as an attacking number eight.

Maddison is an attack minded player and no doubt one of the best. His quality and experience is something Arsenal hopes to add to their squad. It is believed that Maddison will earn around £ 200 thousand per week at Arsenal. Their bid have to be highest than £60 million that Leicester has set as the minimum bid. Maddison has a long contract with the foxes and they will likely hold out a fee of about £80 million for their playmaker. Arsenal are prioritizing the signing of a center midfielder to partner with Thomas Partey. They could also be thinking about adding a new striker to their squad.
